Why We Are Anti-Antimicrobial

MMI focuses on keyboards and mice that can be cleaned effectively, rather than treating an antimicrobial additive as a replacement for cleaning.

What to consider

Cleaning remains the essential step

Antimicrobial additives on a device surface do not remove visible soil or buildup. MMI designs cleanable peripherals for the cleaning routine required by the workspace.

  • 01 / PROTOCOL

    Do not skip cleaning

A product claim should never replace the facility’s cleaning and disinfection protocol. Staff still need to remove soil and clean the device.

  • 02 / SURFACE

Consider what collects on the device

Debris and biological material can accumulate around keys and gaps. A cleanable form helps staff reach the surfaces that matter.

  • 03 / WORKFLOW

Choose a device that supports the routine

Match the product’s approved cleaning methods to the disinfectants, frequency, and turnaround time required in the workspace.

A closer look

Antimicrobial does not mean self-cleaning

These images illustrate why visible buildup and the spaces around keys still need attention during cleaning.
