Multi-function printers (MFPs) allow users to copy, scan, print, send documents via email and fax, and store documents in the cloud and repositories. These MFPs are often shared by multiple users, making them a site where contaminants can be passed from one user to another. Man & Machine announces the release of CoolControl, a disinfectable drape designed for the touchscreen control panel on HP multi-function printers.
CoolControl, a silicone shield that wraps around the control panel on the HP MFP, protects print users from the spread of surface borne diseases that could otherwise be transmitted via high-touch surfaces on the printer.
“While working with HP customers for 26 years, I came across situations where dozens of users shared the same MFP in high traffic areas, with users at high risk of infection,” says Oliver Thompson, Health Minister at Man & Machine. “Now that I’m with Man & Machine, I see first-hand, the quality and precision these Fit for Purpose drapes are manufactured to. CoolControl adds another level of protection for print users in healthcare and beyond.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have published guidelines that support the need for this product, and the enhancement to infection prevention protocols it provides;
“For electronics, such as tablets, touchscreens, and keyboards […], consider putting a wipeable cover on electronics, which makes cleaning and disinfecting easier.”
CoolControl printer drapes have been designed to be placed in an autoclave for sterilization in hospital environments, and wiped down with EPA-registered disinfectants, a 10% bleach solution, or Quaternary Ammonium Compounds (QACs) for the protection of print users across healthcare, senior care, dental, education, banking, retail and many other industries.
